Paris Tokyo at Room Mate Oscar : located in the middle of Chueca, this cool hotel has a French-Japanese restaurant offering the much-anticipated Paris Tokyo Brunch Sessions with a live DJ session, a wide range of cocktails and gins, salads, French cheeses, foie gras, a variety of bread rolls, international jams and extraordinary sushi. A dynamic, fun, urban and very alternative brunch.
Ritz: in the sophisticated Goya Restaurant of the Ritz Hotel, an excellent brunch is served on Sundays with exquisite products and high quality national and international dishes (cold meats, seafood, sushi…). Of the good, the best. A sumptuous buffet in which there is also room for the little ones with their own space. And if you want to sunbathe a little, you can eat it on the beautiful terrace of the hotel as well as the mythical snacks. Of course, you only have one obligation: make a reservation!
Looking forward to Sunday in the big city for a Bellini with a splendid french toast with cream, strawberries, banana, blueberries, maple syrup and bacon. We’re going to get our boots on!

Esta mañana era nuestra última en Madrid, y decidimos hacer lo que la mayoría de los madrileños hacen un domingo por la mañana, que es ir al Rastro, el mercado de las pulgas, para pasear por los puestos bajo el sol.    No me imaginaba que fuera tan grande; debía haber por lo menos unos cientos de puestos, todos vendiendo ropa, zapatos, recuerdos, productos artesanales, gafas de sol, todo lo que te puedas imaginar y apenas podías moverte por la cantidad de gente que andaba por allí.    Era un espectáculo digno de ver, pero no encontramos nada para nosotros, así que cruzamos la ciudad hasta el Westin Palace, donde mi otro regalo de cumpleaños estaba esperando a mamá.
Había reservado una plaza en su Opera Brunch, que es un brunch tipo buffet con cantantes de ópera que se pasean por las mesas mientras cantan.    El edificio era magnífico y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa en una sala con la cúpula de cristal más hermosa sobre nosotros.
Nos pidieron que nos sirviéramos el buffet y nos quedamos boquiabiertos con la comida que se ofrecía.    Había leído en alguna parte que había más de doscientos platos disponibles y no era una exageración.    Había toda la comida que pudieras imaginar que quisieras comer y todo muy bien presentado.    Había queso, ensaladas, carnes frías, langosta, cangrejos de río, paella, bistec, huevos benedictinos, roast beef, salmón ahumado, mejillones, foie gras, verduras y los canapés más bonitos, desde guacamole hasta tarta de queso salada, gazpacho y mucho más.    Estábamos en el paraíso gastronómico.

Only a Civil War had caused the Palace, one of Madrid’s most emblematic hotels, to close its doors in more than a century of history. No one expected a global pandemic to be the cause of the second closure that has lasted five months.
One of the most special and iconic events at the Palace are the Opera & Lunch Sundays. Two hours of enjoyment in which we can marvel at a live opera while enjoying the splendid space around us.
The Palace’s Opera & Lunch is held from 13:30 to 15:30 every Sunday and the price is 87€ per person, which includes the opera, food and drink. In addition, the hotel is temporarily including parking in the price, so it’s a perfect time to take advantage.
During these months in which the hotel has been closed it has been protected and guarded by a small team of professionals who have worked hard to keep the building in perfect condition and safe from any incident, in parallel they have carried out procedures and initiatives that have strengthened its hygiene, cleanliness and safety protocols in line with Marriott International’s commitment to cleanliness.

As soon as you walk through its door, you can sense the splendor of times gone by in its marble-lined entrance. Located on the Paseo de la Castellana, we are welcomed by a polite staff to please the old-fashioned way, close and willing. A traffic circle appears in front of us, full of viands that augur a good feast. The products on offer range from lobster to sushi, including a variety of cheeses and excellent cold meats, as well as a wide variety of meats and fish. There is no lack of desserts of all kinds and categories to sweeten our farewell and put the final point to our visit, yes, taking a walk to help the digestion of this great feast.
